EDM CNC Programmer/ Machinist

EDM CNC Programmer/ Machinist Our client who is a world leader in complex material forming industry is looking for a Sinker EDM CNC Programmer/ Machinist for the Inglewood, California area.
Candidates should have 8 plus years of experience in the Tool and Die Making, Mold Making or High Precision Fixturing Industry as well as the following:
• Strong background with CNC EDM Sinker with Setup, Operation, Programming as well as design and making of own electrodes for the running of high precision tools, dies and fixtures. There is no graphite used in these processes.
• Candidates must have GD&T experience and be able to do their own Metrology and measurements.
• CAD/CAM programming is a big plus with either Esprit or Mastercam as well as design software Solidworks or Pro E. NX and Optisolution is a plus as well.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with employees and management.
• Strong Experience with QC/QA quality standards with close tolerance materials.

Compensation is $30 to $40 per hour plus overtime is offered.

PRODUCT DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

PRODUCT DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER We are looking for a motivated Design Engineer to add to our growing team in the Greater Chicago area who is looking to be a leader within the organization. The ideal candidate has a passion for creating new and innovative consumer products utilizing a wide range of materials and mechanical components. An engineer who excels at leading teams and motivating colleagues as well as who enjoys the challenges of hands-on design from initial concept to final product will excel in this role.
Responsibilities:
• Design and Create engineering solutions for new product concepts and develop those solutions using 3D CAD software (SolidWorks or Pro-E experience)
• Concept generation of new consumer products utilizing various materials including plastic and metal components
• Collaborate with industrial designers, marketing, sales and quality cross-functional teams to create new, innovative products that drive company portfolio and that build upon consumers experience
• Design parts for a variety of manufacturing processes including injection molding, blow molding and casting
• Create Bills of Materials and work with Procurement team to communicate/negotiate with vendors to hit target costs
• Be an active leader in brainstorming sessions to create new product concepts and provide solutions to technical problems
• Provide engineering support to the Product Development team and other company departments including customer service, quality control and supply chain
• Improve upon the 'rapid prototyping' culture to test and prove-out ideas by creating prototype parts by using rapid prototyping and traditional model making technologies
• Participate in product testing of prototypes and consumer research to aid the design process
Skills

Tooling Engineer Injection Molding

Our client is a well-recognized name in the consumer electronics industry. They have a current need at their Chicago (Suburban) manufacturing facility for a Mold/Tooling Engineer. They offer a lavish benefit program and salary, along with potential career advancement.

Below are some of the basic duties and requirements:

- You need to be able to work independently in a wide range for product and process development assignments which include the supporting of mold design, material testing, molding process improvement, and press procurement.
- Perform mold validations (IQ, OQ, PQ) to ensure mold is capable of producing quality parts within budgeted costs.
- Develop machine specifications and supports mold and press replacements, upgrades and auxiliary equipment.
- Communicate and coordinate project activities directly with customers and customer owned tooling activities.
- Manage active tooling projects with outside suppliers; review and approve tool designs prior to tool build.
- Provide direction to ensure tooling and tool components are capable of good working order to support production.
- Participate during mold trails/tests and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Source/select tool suppliers; solicit, review and approve all tooling quotations.
- Participate in root cause analysis and troubleshooting efforts related to product and/or tooling issues; providing technical support to production.
- Work closely with product development, engineering, and manufacturing in the design and development of high cavitation tooling to support production requirements.
- Work with quality engineering on validation requirements assure robust production processes.
- Participate in FMEA with other departments as required.

The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of mold design principles associated to high cavitation, tightly tolerance injection tooling. Along with functional knowledge of various plastic molding runner configurations (conventional, semi-hot, open tip, valve gate, etc), knowledge of various mold surface finish/texture solutions, mold flow analysis, RJG and monitoring systems.

Quality Engineer

We are currently seeking a top-tier Quality Engineer who excels at hands-on involvement meeting and exceeding Plastic Manufacturing Quality standards of custom injection molding from design to production. The ideal candidate is excited about the opportunity to apply his or her industry knowledge to growing organization focused on continued excellence in Quality.

POSITION FOCUS

- Coordinate elements of the plants quality program including its development and administration
- Participate in internal, supplier and corporate quality audits
- Establish strategic quality plans, policies, and procedures at all levels to ensure the quality system will meet internal and external specific requirements and expectations
- Revise procedures and work instructions related to the quality system
- Implement quality training requirements
- Perform PPAP, calibration, inspection and testing
- Lead corrective/preventive action consistent with achieving improvements to facility metrics
- Understand ISO and other applicable quality standards and regulations
- Support customer concerns and complaints
- Identify and trend parameters related to quality
- Ensure that proper statistical methods are applied throughout facility
- Promote use of advanced statistical tools (DOE, Gage R&R, FMEA, etc.) in quality investigations
- Establish effective working relationships with other departments for using quality data in process improvements, new product development, cost savings, or other quality initiatives

SKILLS and ABILITIES

- 2-8 years in quality or manufacturing engineering
- BS Degree in Engineering discipline
- ASQ Certification or equivalent body of knowledge (CQA or CQT required: CQE or Six Sigma Black Belt/Green Belt preferred)
- Understand ISO and other applicable quality standards and regulations
- Extensive knowledge of SPC/SQC, procedure implementation, and quality standards
- Strong written and oral communication skills and demonstrated team leadership ability
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and statistical software

PROCESS ENGINEER – INJECTION MOLDING

We are currently in need of a skilled Process Engineer who is excited about utilizing his or her Injection Molded Plastics manufacturing expertise. The opportunity allows for the individual to actively contribute to the improvement of processes and production within an established and growing industry leader. You will be given the opportunity to display your experience with evaluation, development and improvement of Injection Molding applications including materials, processes, tooling, equipment, and emerging technologies, in an effort to optimize quality, cost and performance.

FOCUS

- Develop and implement process and production preparation plans for new injection molded equipment and products
- Oversee new process equipment production
- Establish repeatable and reproducible process parameters
- Perform root cause analysis for equipment downtime and recommends specific process improvements
- Provide technical support for plant manufacturing
- Lead the training and implementation of kaizen events and supports, contributes and routinely demonstrates lean manufacturing principles
- Partner with plant manufacturing on continuous improvement projects to improve performance and profitability
- Comply with policies and procedures pertaining to facility or divisional adopted standards, such as ISO 14001 Environmental Policy and TS Quality System
- Leads in the development of specifications for equipment, products, materials or substitute material
- Champions scrap reduction activities in areas of responsibility

SKILLS and ABILITIES

- Bachelor's degree in Plastics engineering.
- Proficient in the use of project management tools, and application of continuous process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience in a formalized problem solving methodology
- Ability to read and create prints in 2D & 3D CAD formats, IGES & SolidWorks
- Knowledge and familiarity with TS16949 Quality System and ISO 14001an asset
- Strong engineering toolkit including advanced understanding and application of statistics, sampling plans, data analysis, DOE, GR&R, verification, validation, SPC, control plans, risk management, root cause analysis and tools (e.g. fishbone/Ishikawa diagrams), etc.

PRODUCTION FOREMAN/SUPERINTENDENT

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Experience with troubleshooting injection molding equipment and processes, especially hydraulic presses containing electrical control and heat systems
